Quooker

Boiling water the moment you want it, straight from the tap. No kettle on the worktop, no waiting for it to come up to temperature.

How it works

A small tank sits in the cupboard under the sink, kept at temperature like a vacuum flask and plumbed into the mains. When you want boiling water, it is already there. Nothing is heated from cold and nothing sits on the worktop.

Add the CUBE alongside it and the same tap also gives you filtered chilled and sparkling water, which is one tap doing the work of a kettle, a filter jug and a crate of bottled water.

The Flex, shown here, is the model with a flexible pull-out hose, useful for rinsing the sink and filling pans. Quooker make it in over thirty finishes; these two are patinated brass.

Is it safe around children?

It is the question we get asked most, and it is a fair one. Four things are worth knowing.

It will not come on by accident

The handle has to be pressed twice and then turned before boiling water flows. The mechanism was modelled on a child-safe medicine bottle, and a lit ring warns you while it is running.

The spout stays cool to touch

Insulated walls mean you can hold the spout while boiling water is running through it.

It cannot be knocked over

A tap is fixed to the worktop. Most boiling water accidents at home involve a kettle being pulled over or a pan knocked off the hob, and neither can happen here.

The flow is droplets, not a jet

Water comes out aerated rather than as a solid stream, so there is time to react. On the Flex, the pull-out hose will not dispense boiling water at all.

Come and use one before you decide. We have a Quooker running in the showroom, and it takes about ten seconds to see how the handle works.

Thinking about a boiling water tap?

We can show you one working, talk through which tank suits your household, and design the cupboard space around it from the start rather than finding room for it later.
