Beyond the Kitchen

At Kitchenality we love creating spaces that make everyday life enjoyable. For this recent project our client asked us to design two very different rooms: an atmospheric cinema room and a practical home office. Each needed to look beautiful while working around how the client uses each room.

The Brief

Our clients wanted both rooms to have a wow factor. In the cinema room the priorities were the screen, lighting and comfort. For the office they needed organisation and space to work.

The Cinema Room

We paired a floating unit with low level storage in matching finishes, topped with a warm wood. The wood detail continues through the design by wrapping the floating unit adding contrast and detail. Even with just a few pieces of furniture, these details give the room character while providing practical storage and above all space for the sofa!

The Home Office

For the office, we focused on the functionality. The desk was designed to accommodate storage while also feeling like a practical space to work. The wood detailing carries through form the cinema room to create connection between the two spaces. The desk offers a design focal point while the soft cashmere gives the office a calm feel, the open shelving keeps frequently used items within easy reach. It also creates an attractive back drop for video call.

The Finished Spaces

Although these rooms serve different purposes, both have been designed with the client at the heart. The wooden details connect the two spaces, while each room has its own purpose and character.

Our clients have added their own lighting scheme to the cinema room, giving it the atmospheric feel they wanted that looks great alongside the furniture.
